Wearable Biosensor Standardization: How to Make Them Smarter

نویسندگان

چکیده

The availability of low-cost plug-and-play devices may contribute to the diffusion methods and technologies for personalized monitoring physiological parameters by wearable devices. This paper is focused on biosensors, which represent an interesting enabling technology real-time continuous acquisition biological or chemical analytes physio-pathological interest, e.g., metabolites, protein biomarkers, electrolytes in biofluids. Currently available commercial biosensors are usually referred as customized proprietary solutions. However, efficient robust development e-health applications based can be eased from device interoperability. In this way, even if different modules belong manufacturers, they added, upgraded, changed removed without affecting whole data system. A great effort direction has already been made ISO/IEC/IEEE 21451 standard that introduces concept smart sensors defining main essential characteristics these should have. Following guidelines provided standard, here we propose a set considered biosensor how could integrated into existing standard.

How to Make Reliable, Washable, and Wearable Textronic Devices

In this paper, the washability of wearable textronic (textile-electronic) devices has been studied. Two different approaches aiming at designing, producing, and testing robust washable and reliable smart textile systems are presented. The common point of the two approaches is the use of flexible conductive PCB in order to interface the miniaturized rigid (traditional) electronic devices to cond...

the techniques can easily make effective use of the most sophisticated of these methods." This admirable goal is partially achieved in this multiple-author collection. The chapters on velocity sedimentation (by D. Ridge), zonal rotors (by J.M. Graham), and isopycnic centrifugation (by G.D. Birnie and D. How to make Biological Systems Compute: Simply Observe Them

We survey work on the paradigm called computing by observing. This is a formal model of the way many biochemical experiments are conducted, where an external observer protocols the evolution of a system in a test tube or some other limited environment. So this observer, which is not acting on the input, produces the output. In this the paradigm contrasts strongly to many formal models of bio-co...
